Brief guidelines for short story submissions:
(due date for July 2011 contest is: April 30, 2011)
1. Word count: Maximum: 3000 words or 12 pages. (Whatever comes first)
2. Language: Original work in English or Spanish (No translations please).
3. Media: Electronic PDF or Word format or hardcopies. (No fax copies please).
4. Method: Typed, not hand written. (Please use a Laser printer if hardcopy's method is chosen)
5. Font Type: Courier or New Courier
6. Font size: 12 points font size,
7. Spacing: Double space
8. Email subject Contest Participant
9. Page format: /Documents/Story_Template.dot
Special requirement : Virus scan
Please scan your attachment for viruses before sending your submissions via email.
Failing to do so, will automatically withdraw your story from the contest. (if a virus is detected)
A suggested donation of $10.00 US dollars (money order only - please do not send cash or checks)
per story (multiple summisions per writer is allowed) is required to enter and participate in
Becquer's Short Story Quarterly Award Contest.
* As you can see $10.00 is not much. However, this suggested contribution will allow this site to be operational as a service to our literary community. In addition, the money received by our readers, members and fans, will be used exclusively for our CASH REWARD to the winners of our contest.
At least 85 submissions will be required to come up with the prize money.
